According to foreign media reports, the profit of Apple's iPhone is 3.6 times that of Samsung's mobile phone, which is more than three times that of China's four major mobile phone brands. The company's "high-end" mobile phones accounted for 43% of the global total. According to two recent reports from Counterpoint Research, Apple's share of global mobile phone profits is still much higher than the sum of profits of all other mobile phone manufacturers around the world.

In the second quarter, Apple gained 64% of its profits, and only 17% of Samsung is far from reaching out. At the same time, this figure is more than three times the share of China's Huawei, OPPO, Vivo and Xiaomi. The profits of the remaining 600 mobile phone brands in the market are not even 1%.

However, Counterpoint pointed out that the aggressive efforts of Chinese brands to sell high-end flagship products have led to a total profit of $2 billion for the first time, which indicates that Apple's 62% market share profits are $6 billion. Apple reported that the iPhone had revenues of about $30 billion in its fiscal quarter.

Analyst Karn Chauhan wrote in the report that Samsung’s smartphone’s annual profit has fallen by 21% due to lower-than-expected sales of the Galaxy S9 series. Compared with the Galaxy S8 series in the second quarter of 2017, the Galaxy S9 series shipped 24% in the second quarter of 2018.

It is understood that most of the profits of the mobile phone industry come from high-end models. Although the overall demand for smartphones fell by 1% in the second quarter, global high-end mobile phones (priced at more than $400, accounting for about one-fifth of total smartphone sales) actually increased by 7%.

In the high-end mobile phone sales, Apple has a 43% share, while Samsung, OPPO, Huawei, Xiaomi, and Jiajia are only 24%, 10%, 9%, 3%, and 2% respectively.

In mobile phones priced between $400 and $600, Apple and OPPO sales were flat, with 22%, followed by Samsung (16%), Huawei (14%), Xiaomi (6%), and One Plus (5%). . Among phones with prices ranging from $600 to $800, Apple accounts for 44% of total sales and Samsung has 41%.

Analyst Tarun Pathak pointed out that Samsung's market share of $600 to $800 has declined due to lower-than-expected sales of the Galaxy S9 series. Counterpoint said that in the smartphone market, which sells for more than $800, Apple dominates, with 88% of its sales coming from the iPhone.
